SimplyBiz PLC Key Developments

SimplyBiz Plans To Raise Finance; Eyes Acquisitions

SimplyBiz PLC is planning to raise funds through the sale or flotation of a stake in the business. SimplyBiz, which claims to have a value of around £100 million, plans to use the money raised to fund further acquisitions. Matt Timmins, Joint Managing Director of SimplyBiz told New Model Adviser, "We are looking to generate income so we can use it to grow the business. The main ways to do that are through an initial public offering on AIM, or the sale of a stake in the business to a trade buyer or private equity fund." Timmins SimplyBiz had already identified three possible acquisition targets on which to spend the funds. SimplyBiz is working with corporate financial advisers BDO on the possible stake sale or float.

SimplyBiz Appoints Tim Trotter as Non-Executive Director

SimplyBiz has appointed Bluefin co-founder Tim Trotter as a non-executive director. He is currently chairman of management consultancy Glenfern, Alpha FMC, Seven Publishing, The SR Group and was a co-founder of Citywire and Bluefin, where he was also a non-executive.

SimplyBiz Eyes Bankhall

SimplyBiz PLC has approached Sesame Bankhall Group Ltd about the possibility of acquiring Bankhall PMS Limited. The move has kick started a possible bidding war between SimplyBiz and threesixty Services LLP which earlier this week expressed an interest in buying Bankhall. SimplyBiz is currently waiting to hear back from Sesame Bankhall to begin talks over the sale. Matt Timmins, Managing Director at SimplyBiz, said, we are quite interested in Bankhall and we've expressed our interest through the formal channels. Sesame Bankhall declined to comment.
