NComputing, Inc. Key Developments

NComputing Launches Verde VDI 8.1 Solution for Enterprise Custo

NComputing launches VERDE VDI 8.1, a purpose-built desktop virtualization solution for enterprise and SMB. NComputing is now able to cater to businesses and organizations of all sizes, offering a full stack, end-to-end solution including thin clients, software clients, and desktop management and provisioning infrastructure. VERDE VDI is a purpose-built VDI solution for enterprise customers, aiming to deliver the high performing, flexible and affordable desktop management and provisioning infrastructure on the market. VERDE VDI’s features address the three main challenges that stand in the way of widespread VDI adoption: cost, complexity and use case coverage. Security, in addition to Windows 10 migration, is a major driver of VDI adoption and is at the heart of VERDE VDI. VERDE VDI is organically built from the ground up on a secure Linux foundation. VERDE VDI incorporates a dynamic provisioning model that protects users by making unsanctioned changes non-persistent. VERDE VDI is the lowest cost VDI solution currently available on the market, offering companies a meaningful cost take-out with respect to desktop management and end user computing by making hardware utilization more efficient, while lowering the cost of administering and provisioning users. Compared to enterprise managed PC solutions costs that stand at $1150, traditional VDI at $950 and cloud VDI at $700, VERDE VDI costs up to half as much as other solutions, at only $420 per year (Bluemix-hosted with VDA).

NComputing Announces the Launch of vSpace Guardian

NComputing launched vSpace Guardian, a category–based web filtering service. Using 70 pre-defined categories to selectively block over 140 million websites, vSpace Guardian allows educational organizations, small to medium sized businesses and individual families to manage, control and monitor their internet experience. Users can quickly customize Internet access in their environment by selecting pre-defined web categories without blacklisting content individually. NComputing has partnered with Korea’s security company, Jiransoft to jointly develop the vSpace Guardian solution. With seamless automatic updates, vSpace Guardian ensures that everyone is up-to-date. The predefined policy categories are constantly updated with new websites such as social media, gaming, adult content and other malicious sites. vSpace Guardian will include web usage analysis, allowing administrators to gain insight into users’ web usage behavior with summary reporting; track most visited and blocked websites, fine tune web filtering policies to improve productivity and provide a safer environment. Key Features of vSpace Guardian include: Category based control – Streamline user experience by selecting from 70 different predefined categories covering over 140 million websites, to control and restrict Internet access; whitelists and blacklists – Customize the web filtering experience by ensuring what is on and off limits. vSpace Guardian has the ability to add URL’s that have yet been classified to allow accessibility to important websites and block unwanted ones; customize Internet experience – Use a combination of 70 predefined categories to quickly define router policy. Block social media and other time wasting sites to improve employee productivity. Or, block adult, gaming and other inappropriate sites to provide a safer Internet environment for schools and families; limit bandwidth use - Gain control over network bandwidth usage by restricting access to media downloading and streaming websites; support for all kind of devices - Assign blocking provisions to the router for all connected devices, including tablets, smartphones, laptops/desktops and other NComputing thin client hardware solutions; and remote management from any browser- The easy-to-use, cloud-delivered management console enables the user to quickly setup, manage, and customize web filtering policies per router, giving the user more flexibility and control of their Internet usage.

NComputing Launches vSpace Pro 10, the Next Generation Desktop Virtualization Platform

NComputing launches vSpace Pro 10, a new desktop virtualization platform solution, with a redesigned UI and UX and brand new cloud features. vSpace Pro 10 gives schools and small to medium sized businesses the ability to run and manage up to 100 virtual desktops from a single host machine. Compared to an all PC-based solution this reduces acquisition costs by 65%, IT maintenance costs by 80% per year, and energy savings of up to 90% when combined with NComputing's thin client hardware. vSpace Pro 10 supports the latest Windows Operating Systems to deliver a true PC desktop experience for the end user. Whether in the classroom or workplace, IT administrators can set up and monitor their desktop virtualization deployment, as well as remotely manage hundreds of connected user sessions running on thin client devices - without having to be at that specific computer. This centralized management cuts down costs and improves security by lowering the risk that individual users could unknowingly breach security measures. The new vCAST technology works with vSpace Pro 10 to increase the number of supported vSpace users by up to six times compared to previous versions of vSpace, yet it doesn't affect users' enjoyment of smooth running, HD quality videos. Upcoming premium features include integrated classroom management with monitoring, live chat and student session controls to increase productivity in schools. Other upcoming features include Server Health Monitoring and Usage Tracking to help IT administrators to minimize potential downtime and monitor server workloads.
