NComputing, Inc. Key Developments

Ncomputing, Inc. Announces the Launch of Two New Products, vSpace Server 8.3 and the L350 Thin Client

NComputing, Inc. announced the launch of two new products, vSpace Server 8.3 and the L350 thin client, adding to its already comprehensive solution-set for the education market and small to medium-sized businesses. These are the first major releases for NComputing's vSpace desktop virtualization platform following a company restructure earlier this year. They mark the first announcements from a revitalized product roadmap that features regular quarterly product updates and other new product introductions. Selected the NComputing N-Series Thin Client Solution

NComputing announced that selected the NComputing N-series thin client solution to deliver superior customer service and support for the event ticketing source. has invested in market-leading and complementary virtualization solutions, including NComputing N-series and Citrix XenDesktop, to improve inefficiencies in system performance and configurations, PC patching and maintenance and PCI compliance. NComputing N-series thin clients are ideal for enterprise organizations looking to extend their investments in Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp or VDI-in-a-Box. The technology provides 100% of the HDX experience at a fraction of the cost of PCs or other thin client solutions. With full manageability and support, organizations can more cost-effectively extend their Citrix deployments to more users using NComputing technology, enhancing the benefits of desktop virtualization at a lower total cost of ownership. The demands of high-volume online ticket sales are complex, and sought out a solution to replace a fleet of aging PCs, which required frequent maintenance interruptions for installing new patches, updates and maintaining PCI compliance. Consultants from MTM Technologies determined that Citrix's tight integration with USB ports would support the company's ticket printing requirements. NComputing N-series thin clients were a natural fit because they are purpose-built for Citrix virtualization environments. initially implemented 100 N-series devices with two Major League Baseball clubs in California. Installation took less than one day and with immediate benefits, the investment was soon expanded. Today, it takes booth ticket sellers only 40 seconds to restart their systems after work has been done to the network, half as long as before, which is critical when patrons are waiting at a ticket window.

NComputing Releases N-Series 2.0

NComputing announced the latest release of its firmware for the N-series line of Certified Citrix-Ready HDX Verified thin clients. N-series 2.0 includes a number of key enhancements which broadens support to the latest Citrix virtual desktop environments, including integration of Citrix Receiver for Linux 13.0 and support for XenApp(R) and XenDesktop(R) 7.1 and 7.5, VDI-in-a-Box(TM) 5.4, as well as select StoreFront and NetScaler configurations. The expanded solutions support gives those Citrix customers who plan to upgrade their solutions ahead of the curve the opportunity to also drastically reduce their VDI costs without sacrificing their HDX experience. In addition to support for the newest Citrix solutions, the new NComputing N-series release also provides a vast boost in performance. The integration of the new H.264 codec for video playback in XenDesktop provides high-quality server-rendered video, including HD Flash video in full-screen mode. The technology also includes expanded support for USB webcams for the latest versions of Citrix XenDesktop, delivering customers the video conferencing and collaboration tools they need to function productively in a global market. What's more, additional HDX enhancements at the core of Citrix Receiver for Linux 13.0 help to further boost overall end user experience. New features in the NComputing N-series 2.0 firmware include: Integration of Citrix Receiver for Linux 13.0, supporting Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop 7.1 and 7.5, as well as VDI-in-a-Box 5.4; Support for USB webcams for XenDesktop versions 7.1 and 7.5; Support for H.264 in XenDesktop video which results in greater performance for server-rendered video (this includes HD Flash) and full-screen mode; Support for StoreFront and NetScaler; Improved HDX experience for productivity applications, viewing multimedia files, using webcams and in conference calls.
