Elemental Technologies announced Red Bull Media House has selected Elemental video processing solutions for live and pooled content. At NAB 2015, Red Bull Media House will use Elemental video processing to live stream premium 4K HEVC content originated in Salzburg, Austria from a single RU encoder and delivered via MPEG-DASH for distribution in Las Vegas over the Akamai CDN to Samsung Smart TVs. The content can be seen in Akamai's booth SL3325 and Elemental's booth SU2724 at the LVCC April 13, 2015 to April 16, 2015.

Xfinity on the X1 Entertainment Operating System is a cloud-based platform that has set the bar for what a home entertainment experience should be; one that transcends traditional TV to deliver an immersive and personalized entertainment experience across all devices, with the best navigation, search and discovery. Last year, Comcast began offering customers the X1 DVR with cloud technology, which lets customers record TV shows and movies in the Comcast cloud to enjoy in the home or on-the-go across devices. While in the home, X1 DVR with cloud technology allows customers to turn every device into a TV, providing access to the program guide and nearly the entire channel lineup, as well as the entire Xfinity On Demand library.

A veteran of the video software and encoding industries, Hinders will focus on the expansion of Elemental software-defined video (SDV) solutions in the Americas market as pay TV operators and content owners abandon rigid, hardware-based video processing solutions for the flexibility of SDV approaches. Hinders will lead North and South American sales teams charged with helping media enterprises leverage Elemental's complete suite of solutions to support the whole of the IP video delivery chain. Formerly the senior director of video software and encoding product sales of the worldwide media and service provider market segment for Cisco, Hinders has more than 20 years of experience at the forefront of content distribution and monetization technologies.
