Cummins Emission Solutions., has announced that it will introduce the first of its next generation of aftertreatment systems, the EcoFit Single Module. The EcoFit Single Module is designed to be up to 60% smaller and 4% lighter compared to the EPA 2013 solution it supersedes, all while improving emissions reduction performance. The smaller size enables better heat management and retention for improved fuel economy capability, while the simple single-pass exhaust flow design delivers low back pressure, meeting the needs of end-user customers. The simpler, innovative packaging allows for fewer variations, offering OEM customers system integration benefits, while providing end-user customers with a more robust and reliable after treatment system. This new solution, which will meet GHG and fuel efficiency standards for EPA 2017, specifically addresses the needs of medium- and heavy-duty engine customers in low emissions markets.

The EcoFit Single Module is designed to be up to 60% smaller and 40% lighter compared to the EPA 2013 solution it supersedes, all while improving emissions reduction performance. The smaller size enables better heat management and retention for improved fuel economy capability, while the simple single-pass exhaust flow design delivers low back pressure, meeting the needs of end-user customers. The simpler, innovative packaging allows for fewer variations, offering OEM customers system integration benefits, while providing end-user customers with a more robust and reliable aftertreatment system. This new solution, which will meet GHG and fuel efficiency standards for EPA 2017, specifically addresses the needs of medium- and heavy-duty engine customers in low emissions markets. Advancements in catalyst technologies have allowed the diesel particulate filter to have a bigger ash capacity, permitting for increased time between maintenance events and minimal operator intervention. Improvements in NOx reduction capabilities in the selective catalytic reduction system have been enabled by the use of the EcoFit UL2 Liquid-Only Urea Dosing System. OEM customers will benefit from simpler chassis integration, as the UL2 system does not require engine coolant lines to and from the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) injector. Operators will see more efficient atomization of urea and minimized urea deposits, thus requiring fewer regeneration events while experiencing the optimal use of DEF throughout the system. This product allows Cummins Emission Solutions customers to operate the optimal engine and aftertreatment system with minimal impact to their operations.
Cummins Emission Solutions Introduces its Recently Launched EcoFit Urea Tanks and Lines

Cummins Emission Solutions introduced its recently launched EcoFit Urea Tanks and Lines March 5, to the North American construction market, providing customers the added convenience and increased integration benefits of a fully packaged after treatment system for Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. The EcoFit Urea Tanks and Lines portfolio provides a range of urea tanks with header unit assemblies containing intelligence for monitoring and maintaining accurate urea level, temperature and urea quality, as well as a wide range of urea lines to meet installation needs for many applications and engine platforms. A key component of EcoFit Urea Tanks is the specialized urea quality sensor, designed to detect and monitor the correct urea liquid composition, allowing the system to function at peak performance. The robust sensing technology has been designed with the required vibration durability to withstand rough terrain environments as well as steep gradients. Built-in filtration capabilities improve the systems reliability, capturing any foreign debris that may enter the urea holding chamber. A range of electrically heated pressure, suction and throttle line lengths from 0.5 to 3.0 meters are available in addition to four initial tank capacities of five, 10, 15 and 30 US gallon or 19, 38, 57 and 114 liters, including two shape orientations, providing added installation flexibility. EcoFit UL2 Liquid-Only Urea Dosing System: Continuing to bring added ease and benefits to their customers, the new urea tanks and lines complement the EcoFit UL2 Liquid-Only Urea Dosing System by offering an end-to-end full system package with robust characteristics across a wide variety of construction equipment. Benefitting the off-highway market, the EcoFit UL2 proprietary design offers reduction of droplet size to as low as 24 microns SMD, promoting improved oxides of nitrogen (NOx) conversion efficiency for those applications lacking onboard air. EcoFit UL2 is the only liquid-only dosing system in the market offering freeze-robustness in its design and improved reliability, as urea is continually present within the unit to prevent crystallization and clogging. Easier integration and improved flexibility benefits can be found in the systems extended urea transfer line lengths of up to 15 meters, allowing the distance between the supply and dosing unit to be chosen more freely, without affecting controls technology.
