Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. reported consolidated unaudited earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the three months ended June 30, 2015, earnings per share was $0.16 compared to $0.21 for the three months ended June 30, 2014, and EPS, adjusted for special items, was $0.25 for the three months ended June 30, 2015 compared to $0.21 for the three months ended June 30, 2014. Adjusted EBITDA increased 15% to $777 million for the three months ended June 30, 2015, compared to $674 million for the three months ended June 30, 2014, and net income attributable to Hilton stockholders was $161 million for the three months ended June 30, 2015 compared to $209 million for the three months ended June 30, 2014. Revenues were $2,922 million against $2,667 million a year ago. Operating income was $427 million against $435 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was $312 million against $333 million a year ago. Total capital expenditures were $93 million against $63 million a year ago. EBITDA was $635 million against $656 million a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA is projected to be between $2,820 million and $2,870 million, an increase of $20 million at the midpoint adjusting for the sale of the Hilton Sydney. Diluted EPS, adjusted for special items, is projected to be between $0.80 and $0.84. Capital expenditures, excluding timeshare inventory, are expected to be between $350 million and $400 million.

Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. (NYSE:HLT) is considering spinning off its hotels into a real estate investment trust (REIT). The company has examined a number of options, including the possibility of selling the owned hotels to an existing REIT, rather than creating one of on their own, Chief Executive Officer Chris Nassetta said.
