TRUMPF Inc. Invests EUR 70 Million in High-Tech at its Headquarters

TRUMPF Inc. is going to build a new home for its EUV technology. To create optimal conditions for this high-tech microchip production method, new buildings covering an overall area of almost 34,000 square meters are due for construction at the TRUMPF headquarters in Ditzingen over the next two years. A multi-story hall will include not only production areas and clean rooms but also zones for testing and start-up. Space for 270 jobs is planned for an adjacent office block. The new buildings will be used primarily by company's subsidiary TRUMPF Lasersystems for Semiconductor Manufacturing.

As of July 1, 2014, Peter Hoecklin has assumed the role of president and chief executive officer of TRUMPF Inc. In this position he is responsible for all the company’s subsidiaries and business operations in North America, including manufacturing, engineering, research and development, customer service, technical training, product sales, and applications. He succeeds Dr. Lars Gruenert, who held the role in interim for the last year. Dr. Gruenert will continue in his position as a member of the managing board of the TRUMPF Group, as well as the executive vice president and newly appointed chief financial officer of TRUMPF GmbH + Co. KG. Hoecklin joined TRUMPF in 2003 as director of purchasing in Ditzingen, Germany. He has since served the company in Germany and Asia, most recently as president and managing director of TRUMPF (China) Co. Ltd. The company also announced the promotion of Burke Doar to senior vice president. Doar joined TRUMPF Inc. in 2002 as vice president of customer services and was promoted to vice president, sales and marketing in 2003. Mr. Doar also serves as the immediate past chairman of the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association (FMA).
