Telesat Holdings Inc. announced that, effective August 3, 2016, Mr. Richard Fadden has joined the Board of Directors of Telesat Holdings Inc., Telesat Interco Inc. and Telesat Canada, and the Board of Managers of Telesat LLC. Mr. Fadden was the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Canada from January 19, 2015 to March 31, 2016. Previously he was the Deputy Minister of National Defence starting in May 2013 and served as the Director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service from 2009 until 2013. Telesat Holding Inc. also announced that, effective August 8, 2013, Mr. Guthrie Stewart has joined the Board of Directors of Telesat Holdings Inc., Telesat Interco Inc. and Telesat Canada, and the Board of Managers of Telesat LLC. Mr. Stewart is currently the Senior Vice President and Global Head of Private Investments for the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments), a position he has held since joining PSP Investments in 2015.

Effective January 13, 2016, Mr. James Pittman has stepped down as a director of Telesat Holdings Inc., Telesat Interco Inc. and Telesat Canada, and as member of the Board of Managers of Telesat LLC. Telesat Holdings Inc. announced that, effective January 13, 2016, Mr. Antoine Bisson-McLernon has joined the Board of Directors of Telesat Holdings Inc., Telesat Interco Inc. and Telesat Canada, and the Board of Mangers of Telesat LLC. Mr. McLernon joined the Public Sector Pension Investment Board in July 2009 and, since December 7, 2015, is the Managing Director, Private Equity – Americas. Prior to that, he led PSP Investments Natural Resources investment group and sat on the Boards of TimberWest Forest Corp. (Canada), Kaingaroa Timberlands (New Zealand), and X2 Resources (UK). He is also a past Advisory Committee member of Haymarket Financial LLP (UK). Before joining PSP Investments, Mr. McLernon worked in private equity and investment banking.

Hughes Network Systems, LLC and Telesat announced a 15-year agreement for Ka-band capacity on Telesat's new Telstar 19 VANTAGE (T19V) satellite, planned for launch in early 2018. The agreement calls for Telesat to deliver Ka-band capacity of 31 Gbps on T19V covering many countries in South America, which Hughes will utilize to expand its broadband satellite services for consumers. High-throughput JUPITERdz technology from Hughes will be deployed for the ground system and customer premises equipment.
