National Technical Systems Develops New Data Acquisition, Measurement Tool DynamicDAQ
Mar 5 14
National Technical Systems Inc. announced that it has developed a new data acquisition product, based on National Instruments hardware, that allows aerospace and other customers to collect and portray data in real time and store it for display, analysis and certification purposes. The new, durable and fully portable product, called DynamicDAQ(TM), was conceived and developed by NTS software architects at its Albuquerque facility who design measurement tools for customers in aerospace and other research and manufacturing industries. DynamicDAQ, which was developed on a National Instruments (NI) cDAQ hardware platform, can be scaled to fit data acquisition requirements for large (PXI) and small systems related to aerospace test stands, "iron birds" and other sources of complex data sets. DynamicDAQ can measure and monitor such things as pressure, temperature, voltage, current, position and a plethora of statistics.
National Technical Systems Authorized for MoCA 2.0 Certification Testing
Jan 21 14
National Technical Systems Inc. announced that certification testing for the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA(R)) 2.0 specification, the worldwide technology standard for home entertainment networking, is now available. With the recent successful completion of Golden Node testing, NTS is now exclusively performing certification testing for MoCA 2.0 on behalf of the Alliance at its NTS Advanced Technology division located in Culver City, CA. MoCA 2.0 serves the requirements of operators, including new performance modes, optimized energy saving, expanded operating frequencies, as well as packet error rate improvements. Golden node testing was performed on devices from Entropic, a world leader in semiconductor for the connected home, and Broadcom, a global leader in semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications. Golden Node testing is more rigorous and complex than standard certification testing, in order to confirm the devices are in all ways compliant and conform to the specification. These Golden Nodes are then used in the certification testing of other devices via interoperability to ensure those devices meet the MoCA 2.0 standard. Testing for the MoCA Certification Program will continue to be performed by NTS Advanced Technology. Certification testing for MoCA 2.0 devices is available beginning today.
Pacific Gas & Electric Selects National Technical Systems Inc. as the Provider of ZigBee Home Area Network Device Validation Testing
Jan 13 14
National Technical Systems Inc. announced that it has been selected by Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) as the first provider of validation testing of ZigBee Home Area Network (HAN) devices for use with PG&E SmartMeters(TM). NTS is now performing validation testing for PG&E at the NTS Advanced Technology division located in Culver City, CA. Based on a PG&E-developed test procedure, NTS is testing HAN devices, which are based on the ZigBee networking standard, to verify that they can correctly communicate with the PG&E SmartMeter. Testing is performed using actual PG&E SmartMeters installed in the NTS Advanced Technology facility specifically for this purpose. HAN devices that successfully complete the testing will be listed on the PG&E website.
