Gilbarco Inc. Key Developments

Wawa Selects Gilbarco Veeder-Root for Fuel Dispenser EMV Upgrades Across Their Network of Florida Stores

Wawa has selected Gilbarco Veeder-Root as their exclusive dispenser and payment-terminal provider for forecourt EMV acceptance beginning with their Florida network of more than 100 locations. Wawa is leveraging Gilbarco's FlexPay IV payment terminal to begin their dispenser upgrades now in order to work toward the October 2017 EMV liability shift date. Wawa is also maximizing their technology investment by including NFC contactless readers to enhance the consumer fueling experience and improve sales and loyalty. Wawa's forecourt EMV upgrades will include Gilbarco's FlexPay IV payment terminal, both factory-installed into new Encore 700 S dispensers, as well as payment terminal upgrades for legacy dispensers in the field. In addition to enabling EMV (chip) payments at the pump, FlexPay IV provides gas stations and convenience stores the ability -- through the Applause Media System -- to engage consumers at the pump with product advertisements, infotainment and digital coupons that help drive consumers from the pump and into the convenience store. Jointly developed with Verifone, FlexPay IV from Gilbarco is the first PCI PTS 4.x certified fuel-dispenser, payment terminal in the U.S. that supports EMV, NFC, mobile wallets, encryption and 2D barcode scanning, as well as future regulatory changes. FlexPay IV provides a key element that will allow retailers the ability to upgrade their fuel dispensers in advance of the October 2017 petroleum forecourt EMV liability shift.

Nittany Oil Uses Gilbarco's Express Ordering Food Service Solution in All 26 Locations

Gilbarco Veeder-Root announced that Nittany Oil is now using Gilbarco'sExpress Ordering Food Service solution in all 26 locations. Nittany MinitMart has evolved their food service program across Central and Northern Pennsylvania over the past 50 years, expanding their menu to include breakfast and a wide variety of lunch and dinner menu options. With the growth of their food service program, the need for self-service ordering technology has become a necessity, and Nittany Oil turned to Gilbarco'sExpress Ordering Food Service solution to meet their evolving needs. Nittany Oil has also invested in Gilbarco's Passport® POS system to further optimize their food service solutions. Since Gilbarco's Express Ordering is a scalable and adaptable solution that can be customized, it was the perfect fit for Nittany Oil. They also integrated Gilbarco'sPassport Point of Sale System which provided a complete c-store solution. They will be able to take advantage of future features such as mobile phone ordering and the ability to order your items at the pump.

Colbea Selects Gilbarco Veeder-Root for Indoor and Fuel Dispenser Emv Upgrades

Colbea Inc. announced that it is implementing Gilbarco Veeder-Root's Passport Point of Sale with EMV functionality and FlexPay IV forecourt payment terminals across their entire network of more than 100 convenience stores. As it upgrades its network for EMV payment acceptance, Colbea will also include Applause™ TV to maximize their technology investment and improve the consumer fueling experience. Colbea's forecourt EMV upgrades will leverage Gilbarco's FlexPay IV payment terminal. In addition to enabling EMV (chip) payments at the pump, FlexPay IV provides gas stations and convenience stores the ability through Applause TV powered by Pump Media to engage consumers while they are pumping gas with timely news and entertainment content along with product advertisements and digital coupons that help drive consumers from the pump and into the convenience store. Pump Media from Verifone Media is powerful digital out of home (DOOH) network in the petroleum forecourt market. Jointly developed with Verifone, FlexPay IV from Gilbarco is the first PCI PTS 4.x certified fuel-dispenser payment terminal in the U.S. that supports EMV, NFC, mobile wallets, encryption and 2D barcode scanning, as well as future regulatory changes. FlexPay IV provides retailers the ability to upgrade their fuel dispensers in advance of the October 2017 petroleum forecourt EMV liability shift. For its EMV upgrades inside the convenience store, Colbea is leveraging Gilbarco'sPassport Point of Sale system. This system is the first petroleum POS to provide general availability of software supporting both EMV Credit and Debit transactions. Support of multiple common payment types reduces consumer confusion around inserting vs. swiping their card at the payment terminal. Multi-EMV card format support ensures that all EMV-capable cards are processed as a chip payment, reducing consumer ambiguity and increasing consumer satisfaction, while maximizing the retailer's protection against fraud and liability. In addition, releasing credit and debit support of EMV in a single, easy to deploy software update for the Passport POS minimizes retailer downtime.
