Frost & Sullivan's Manufacturing Leadership Council announced the election of Procter & Gamble's Director of Corporate Global Manufacturing Pietro D'Arpa, and Val Zanchuk, President and Owner of U.S. precision castings company Graphicast Inc., to the Manufacturing Leadership Council'sBoard of Governors. The Board of Governors, which steers the Manufacturing Leadership Council (MLC), approved the nominations early last month. With these appointments, the Board of Governors now includes 17 members from organizations such as Ford Motor Company, Lockheed Martin, Lexmark International, the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII), Germany's SmartFactory Technology Initiative, Dell Computer, Cisco Systems, UCLA, MIT, and the University of Cambridge Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) in the U.K. Pietro D'Arpa is director of Corporate Global Manufacturing and responsible for the manufacturing strategies and capabilities of Procter & Gamble's 130 manufacturing sites around the world. He has worked at P&G for 29 years, serving in a variety of manufacturing and supply chain roles across many of its business divisions, including detergents, pet care, paper and beauty products. Val Zanchuk is president and majority owner of New Hampshire-based precision castings company Graphicast Inc.
