The Lubrizol Corporation Announces Management Changes

The Lubrizol Corporation announced that Eric R. Schnur assumes the chairman, president and chief executive officer roles effective January 2, 2017. Schnur succeeds James L. Hambrick, previously chairman and chief executive officer, who completes a career spanning more than 38 years at Lubrizol. This planned management transition was announced in mid-2016. Schnur, who has been with the company more than 27 years, was named Lubrizol's president and chief operating officer on June 1, 2016, having previously served as president of the Lubrizol Advanced Materials business segment for eight years. He joined the company as an engineer in research and development, and progressed through a variety of technical and commercial positions in the Lubrizol Additives and Lubrizol Advanced Materials business segments. Schnur also worked at several domestic and global company facilities, including the Lubrizol Additives site in Singapore, where he led Engine Oils marketing and technical services for Southeast Asia and Australia.

The Lubrizol Corporation announced that Rick Tolin has been named corporate senior vice president and president of Lubrizol Advanced Materials (LZAM), effective immediately. He replaces Eric R. Schnur who has been promoted to Lubrizol president. Tolin will oversee the LZAM business segment. The segment businesses include Engineered Polymers, Personal and Home Care, Performance Coatings and LifeSciences. Tolin joined the company in 1993 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and international business management within the company's coatings and personal care businesses. In 2011 he was named vice president and general manager of the personal and home care business of LZAM. Prior to joining the company, Tolin worked at specialty chemical firms RITA Corporation and Carroll Scientific in technical, sales and business management roles.

The Lubrizol Corporation announced that Eric R. Schnur, currently executive vice president and chief operating officer, has been appointed as president, effective immediately, and will become chairman and chief executive officer on January 2, 2017. James L. Hambrick, the current chairman, president and chief executive officer, having fulfilled his commitment to remain in those roles for five years following Berkshire Hathaway's acquisition of Lubrizol in 2011, has decided to complete his 38-year Lubrizol career. In addition, Greg D. Taylor, senior vice president of corporate strategy and development, will retire later in 2016.
