Aldi Nord Sells Microsoft Lumia 532 for EUR 69.99

Aldi Nord will sell the Microsoft Lumia 532 from 17 August for EUR 69.99. The purchase price also includes a starter set for Aldi's mobile service Aldi Talk including SIM card and a EUR 10 starting balance. The Windows smartphone will be sold without SIM lock, which allows buyers to use it with any micro SIM card. The Windows Phone 8.1 runs on a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor and features a 5 MP rear and a VGA front camera. The 4-inch touch screen has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and the phone runs 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage, which can be extended to 128 GB with a microSD card.

Aldi Nord to Reduce Working Time to 40 Hours Per Week

Aldi Nord intends to reduce the working time for its around 30,000 employees to 40 hours per week from the current 45 hours. The reason for the shift is the ongoing renovation in all Aldi Nord stores. Under the programme, the stores will be redesigned and the product range will be revised. Currently, the company is holding negotiations with the 400 works councils in its 35 regional subsidiaries, she added. The planned change will initially affect the chain`s store managerd, but there will be talks with other work groups too. Aldi Nord also plans the introduction of a time registration system and the adjustment of its bonus scheme.
