FedEx Places Boeing 767 Order

Boeing has collected the biggest single commitment for 767s in the 37 years since the program s industrial launch with purchase agreement with FedEx Express covering fifty 767-300F freighters worth as much as $10 billion at list prices. FedEx Express has in addition taken alternative to buy another 50 of the airplanes. Schedules call for deliveries of the airplanes on firm order to run from FedEx 2018 fiscal year through fiscal 2023. The cargo carrier with the new deal at present holds firm orders for 106 B767s. In June the company declared strategy to speed up the retirement of seven MD-11s, three Airbus A300s, four A310-300s and a single MD-10, as well as adjust the retirement of another 23 airframes. FedEx said that the 767 purchase will not affect capital spending for 2016, which stands at $4.6 billion, and that 2017 capital spending related to the new order would prove immaterial.

Fedex Express Plans to Acquire 50 Additional Boeing 767-300F Aircraft

FedEx Express agreed to purchase 50 additional 767-300F aircraft from The Boeing Company as it continues to modernize its aircraft fleet to more effectively serve its customers. In addition to the 50 confirmed orders, FedEx also has options to purchase a total of 50 767F aircraft. The 50 firm-order aircraft will be delivered from fiscal 2018 through fiscal 2023. Total capital spending for fiscal 2016 remains at $4.6 billion. The impact to capital spending in fiscal 2017 from this new order is immaterial. With this order, FedEx Express now holds a total of 106 firm orders for 767Fs from The Boeing Company through fiscal 2023.

FedEx Express Reports Unaudited Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year Ended May 31, 2015

FedEx Express reported unaudited earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended May 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of $6.70 billion against $7.00 billion a year ago. Adjusted operating income was $598 million against $534 million a year ago. Operating income was $322 million against $534 million a year ago. Adjusted operating results improved due to higher base yield and U.S. domestic volume growth, the benefit from profit improvement program initiatives and lower international expenses due to currency exchange rates. Revenue decreased 4% as lower fuel surcharges and unfavorable currency exchange rates more than offset base yield and volume growth. For the full year, the company reported revenue of $27,239 million against $27,121 million a year ago. Operating income was $1,584 million against $1,428 million a year ago.
