Tomas Spurny, 50, will become new CEO of GE Money Bank in CR as of Oct. 1, 2015, taking over from Sean Morrissey who leaves after more than four years to hold a position within GE Capital, adding that the change has nothing to do with the future sale of the bank. The appointment needs approval from the regulator. Spurny's last position was that of CEO of BCR. He has experience of more than 30 years in the financial sector, with positions such as CEO and CFO held at CIB Bank, PPF, Komercni banka, CCS CR and VUB Banka Intesa Sanpaolo.

GE Money Bank, AS confirmed that it may list its Czech unit if it fails to find a strategic investor to buy it out. Should no direct buyer for the business show up, the Czech unit might float its shares on the Prague Stock Exchange, unnamed banking sources told Hospodarske Noviny. A spokesperson for the GE Capital International Holdings Corporation confirmed that it is working on both scenarios.
