Entergy Gulf States Louisiana to Power Sasol North America, Inc.'s Ethane Cracker and Derivatives Project in Westlake

Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. signed a six-year commercial and contractual agreement with Sasol North America Inc., to supply up to 200 megawatts of electric power to Sasol's proposed ethane cracker and derivatives project in Westlake, La., beginning in mid 2015. Sasol announced in December 2012 that it would begin front end engineering and design (FEED) work for a world scale ethane cracker and derivatives facility to be located near the town of Westlake, La. The estimated cost of the facility is between $5 billion to $7 billion. It is currently envisioned that the final investment decision for the ethane cracker will be taken in 2014 with beneficial operation to be achieved in 2017. The ethane cracker is designed to produce 1.5 million tons per year of ethylene. Entergy Gulf States Louisiana plans to upgrade its electric transmission system to meet the increased demand the ethylene production facility is anticipated to generate.
Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. Signs Commercial and Contractual Agreement with Methanex USA LLC

Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. has signed a commercial and contractual agreement with Methanex USA LLC to supply up to 30 megawatts of power to Methanex's new methanol facility in Geismar. In July 2012, Methanex announced plans to relocate a 1 million metric ton methanol production plant from Chile to a new 225-acre site in Geismar. On April 24, 2013, Methanex announced plans to proceed with the relocation of a second 1 million metric ton per year methanol plant from its Chile site to Geismar. Subsequent to the public announcement, Entergy Gulf States Louisiana has been working with Methanex to provide permanent power to its new facility. The power contract between Entergy Gulf States Louisiana and Methanex is for an initial 10-year term and will continue thereafter on a year-to-year basis. Entergy Gulf States Louisiana plans to upgrade its electric transmission system to meet the increased demand the methanol production facility is anticipated to generate.
