Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME Bank) revealed that the Board of Director’s Meeting on 30 October 2015 has the consent to approve Ms. Intira Phookpunyarak (Senior Executive Vice President) resigned from the Acting President Position. In order to be transparency and continuous perform, the Board of Director appointed Mr. Woramit Krutto (Senior Executive Vice President) to be Acting President due to the later seniority. Hence, the announcement has been effective since 2 November 2015.

Sukhumvit Asset Management In Talks To Acquire Bad Loans Of SME Bank

Sukhumvit Asset Management Co. Ltd. (SAM) is in talks to acquire distressed debts worth THB 20 billion of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand. Chookiat Jittimaitriskul, President of Sukhumvit Asset Management, said that SAM has expressed interest in buying all the non-performing loans of SME Bank. Chookiat Jittimaitriskul said, “We've positioned ourselves as the government's instrument for bad asset management. But the asset valuations will be in line with market prices, just as with private bad asset purchases.”
