Lotte Co., Ltd. has dropped its plans to acquire Duty Free Americas, Inc. "The group has effectively given up on the potential acquisition of a U.S. duty-free operator worth KRW 1.7 trillion ($1.5 billion), now that the initial public offering of its hotel unit has been indefinitely delayed due to the ongoing investigations," said a Lotte official on condition of anonymity.
