Hyatt Hotels Corp Signs Franchise Agreement with Southwest Value Partners
Aug 31 16
Hyatt Hotels Corp. signed a franchise agreement with Southwest Value Partners, the San Diego-based company that purchased the campus of LifeWay Christian Resources last year and has been planning a massive mixed-use development ever since. The proposed 540-room Hyatt Regency would be the third-largest hotel downtown, eight rooms bigger than the 33-story JW Marriott under construction in SoBro. The hotel also would contain 60,000 square feet of meeting and event space. In a statement, Hyatt said it expects to open the hotel in 2019. It's planned for the corner of Broadway and 10th Avenue North, across from the city's historic Union Station Hotel, the first Center for the Visual Arts, and a Holiday Inn.
