Larsen & Toubro Limited Plans To Sell Road, Power, Metro Projects

Larsen & Toubro Limited (BSE:500510) is planning to sell its portfolio of roads, metro, power, port and transmission assets. The sale will be made by the company to free up capital and invest the funds in infrastructure projects likely to be awarded by the Indian Government. R Shankar Raman, Chief Financial Officer, said, "We are in talks with buyers to divest our stakes in roads, power and transmission projects to free up our capital so that we can invest in other developmental projects." Larsen & Toubro is in talks with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) to sell its entire portfolio of operational road projects. Raman added, "All of our projects are under SPVs and it will be a shared transaction rather than anything else. CPPIB is an existing investor in L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Limited and that way they are already in the house. So anything we are doing, they know."

L&T In Talks With Canadian Pension Fund To Sell Road Projects

Larsen & Toubro Limited (BSE:500510) plans to monetize its operational road projects, held by subsidiary L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Limited, in a deal with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. A deal will be struck within six months.

Larsen & Toubro Provides Update on L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Limited's Default on Loans Obligation

Larsen & Toubro Ltd. announced that the 2 Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) promoted by L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Limited defaulting on loans obligations. The defaults aggregating to INR 120 million were with respect to servicing of project loans as on August 31, 2015. Larsen & Toubro announced that loans availed by the 2 SPVs are without recourse to either L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Limited or to Larsen & Toubro Limited. The defaults have occurred primarily out of failure of the respective concession authorities in meeting certain of their obligations under the respective concession agreements.
