Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) will install three new generators of combined 14 MW at its Gualberto Villarroel and Guillermo Elder Bell refineries by investing USD 38 million (EUR 27.7 million). The company announced the delivery of two units of 4.7 MW each to Gualberto Villarroel, in Cochabamba department, and an additional 4.3 MW to the other refinery, in Santa Cruz city. The generators will improve the power systems within the refineries and their interconnection with the national grid.

Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) signed a 20-day contract with Petrobras to export surplus natural gas to Brazil. Bolivia already exports some 30 million cu m of gas per day to Brazil under a contract to 2019. The additional gas, of up to 2.24 million cu m per day, will be exported to a thermal plant in Brazil's Cuiaba city. During the initial 20 days, the parties will consider a longer-term contract for additional gas supplies, with an option for suspension.

Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) will invest BOB 66.3 million (USD 9.6 million/EUR 7 million) this year to install 6,400 household gas connections in Oruro department. The company will expand its conventional gas network with 4,000 new connections, while the other 2,400 are part of a plan for liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies by trucks, YPFB's gas networks manager, Sergio Borda LNG will be supplied to Huanuni and Challapata cities where the company will install small regasification units. The plan will allow Bolivia to supply gas to remote areas, replacing kerosene, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), coal, firewood and other fuel.
