The Brattle Group announced that it has opened an office in Sydney to support its clients in Australia and the greater Asia-Pacific region with face-to-face collaboration and efficient access to the firm's global resources. The Sydney office is located at Citigroup Centre at 2 Park Street in Sydney NSW. Brattle also has offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts; New York, New York; San Francisco, California; Washington, DC; London, England; Madrid, Spain; Rome, Italy; and Toronto, Ontario, allowing its experts to provide local support and a global perspective.
The Sydney office is led by Brattle Principal Toby Brown, formerly of the firm's San Francisco office, who specializes in energy markets and infrastructure regulation. He has consulted for producers, pipelines, utilities, and regulators in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the United States, and Canada. Dr. Brown's consulting experience in Australia includes gas pricing, wholesale market design, and advising on best practices for infrastructure access based on experience in different jurisdictions worldwide. The Brattle Group Names Christopher Laursen as Principal to its Washington, DC Office

The Brattle Group announced that financial industry expert Christopher Laursen has joined the firm's Washington, DC office as a principal. With more than 25 years of financial industry experience, Mr. Laursen has provided expert testimony and consulting services on a wide range of matters relating to financial products and institutions, markets, regulation, and risk management. He has testified in disputes involving investment and trading strategies, mortgage-backed securities, municipal finance, structured notes, financial institution regulations and accounting, anti-money laundering, and insider trading. He has consulted for the U.S. Department of Justice, the State Insurance Commissioner of Connecticut, and the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission. Mr. Laursen previously served as the Federal Reserve Board's Manager of Risk Policy and Guidance, where he wrote and interpreted financial regulations. In 2009, he authored new Federal Reserve guidance requiring large financial institutions to enhance trading-book stress tests and value-at-risk modeling. He also worked closely with other U.S. and international financial regulators to craft new rules, including as a member of the Basel Committee's Trading Book Group.

Dr. Cragg, who is based in the firm's Cambridge, MA office, joined The Brattle Group in 2008. He previously served as a member of the Board of Directors and as the firm's Chief Operating Officer.
