Google Reportedly To Lead $500 Million Investment In Magic Leap

Google Inc. (NasdaqGS:GOOGL) and other investors are reportedly planning to invest about $500 million in Magic Leap, Inc. Google is leading the funding round for Magic Leap. As reported, Andreessen Horowitz LLC may be one of the other investors in the consortium. Google, Andreessen Horowitz and Magic Leap could not be reached for a comment outside of business hours.

Magic Leap Appoints Brian Wallace as Chief Marketing Officer

Magic Leap, Inc. announced that Brian Wallace has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer. Wallace will work closely with Magic Leap founder, President and CEO Rony Abovitz to oversee all aspects of marketing the company responsible for creating a proprietary human computing interface technology, known as Cinematic Reality(TM). Brian Wallace is known for his success at previous technology companies that include industry innovators Google, Samsung and Blackberry (formerly Research in Motion). Wallace was accountable for various marketing roles during his 11 years at BlackBerry. His position as Vice President of Global Digital Marketing & Media put him on the map as a true marketing innovator, helping BlackBerry to become the fastest growing company in the world (Forbes).
