Skye Bank plc Reports Unaudited Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended March 31, 2015

Skye Bank Plc reported unaudited earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported profit before tax of NGN 17.13 billion against NGN 16.5 billion it posted in 2012. The banks profit after tax also rose significantly to NGN 16.02 billion compared with NGN 12.64 billion posted in the previous year, showing an improvement of 26.7%. The result also showed operating income was up marginally to NGN 69.33 billion from NGN 68.5 billion indicating increased efficiency in cost management.

Skye Bank Plans To Launch Rights Issue To Raise Funds

Skye Bank Plc (NGSE:SKYEBANK) is considering plans to raise NGN 50 billion through a rights issue by third quarter of 2015 to expand its loan book after completing the sale of short-term commercial notes in the week ended March 28 2015. The shares sale is expected to be held after a shareholders' meeting in May 2015.
