SurveyMonkey announced two new members to its board of directors. Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Facebook, and David Ebersman, chief executive officer of Lyra Health, will join SurveyMonkey’s board, effective immediately. SurveyMonkey also announced that Zander Lurie, the company’s temporary executive chairman, has been named permanent chairman of the board. Lurie will continue to serve as senior vice president of the GoPro Entertainment Division, a position he has held since November 2014.

Zander Lurie, a senior vice president at GoPro Inc. and SurveyMonkey board member since 2009, will serve as temporary executive chairman of the SurveyMonkey board for a period of three months. In this role, he will support the talented team put together by Dave Goldberg while the board conducts a search for a new CEO. Lurie will continue to fully serve in his role at GoPro during this interim period. Upon the hiring of a new CEO, Lurie will remain a board member at SurveyMonkey.

SurveyMonkey CEO Dave Goldberg, who grew the company to a $2 billion valuation, died suddenly on May 1, 2015 night. Goldberg, 47, had led SurveyMonkey since 2009, taking over about 10 years after it was founded by Ryan and Chris Finley.
