Scottish Enterprise Announces Appointment of Non-Executive Members of the Board

The Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Constitution and Economy, John Swinney, announced the appointment of Willie Mackie and Carmel Teusner as Non-Executive Members of the Board of Scottish Enterprise. Willie Mackie is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers in Scotland and has over 36 years of experience in the financial services sector including a spell as the managing partner of Clydesdale Banks Business, Private and Agriculture business across Ayrshire and Arran. He established his business consultancy in January 2013. He has played an active role in supporting and promoting economic development and has held a number of Non-Executive positions, Scottish Enterprise Ayrshire (Board Member), Ayrshire Economic Partnership (Member), Ayrshire Chamber (past President), and Taste Ayrshire (Chair). He was appointed by the Cabinet Secretary to the role of the Regional Chair of Ayrshire College in 2013, is a Board member of College Scotland and College Development Network where he is also Chair of the Audit Committee. In 2014 he was appointed to the Board of Skills Development Scotland where he is Chair of the Service Development Committee and a Member of the Audit Committee. Carmel Teusner has a background in organisational development and brings global business experience spanning a broad range of industries and sectors. She has held senior management roles in FTSE 100 and ASX 100 companies including Westpac, Lloyds Banking Group and British Sky Broadcasting. She has experience of a range of business challenges from start-up, strategy development, expansion, consolidation, acquisition, integration and divestment and was most recently Head of Organisational Development for UGL, one of Australia's leading engineering and outsourced services companies. Carmel is a Member of the Board of the National Library of Scotland and former Director of software firm Azalient Ltd. They commenced on January 1, 2016 and will end on December 31, 2018.These appointments are part-time.

The Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Constitution and Economy, John Swinney, announced the appointment of Bob Keiller to succeed Crawford Gillies as the new Chair of the Board of Scottish Enterprise from January 1, 2016. Bob Keiller is the Wood Group Chief Executive Officer having held the position since November 2012. He will step down from this position on 31st December 2015.
