Argent Joins Forces with Related to Target PRS and Mixed-Use UK Schemes
Mar 2 15
Argent and Related Companies have formed a new joint venture called Argent Related. The group will pursue mixed-use projects of scale in London and the UK, with a particular focus on the private rented sector. The move comes after the two parties were selected as preferred bidder on the Brent Cross Cricklewood South regeneration last week, which will create 7,500 homes. Argent Related will develop open-market and affordable housing, offices, retail and leisure space, and hotels, with a commitment to sustainable and sensitive development. Drawing on Related's extensive experience in build-to-rent developments and strong management capability in the US, the venture will place a distinct focus on purpose-built rented homes. Argent Related is also committed to providing workspaces for the next generation of businesses and office users, all located near significant new transport hubs. Pre-existing development arrangements and investments on both sides, including Argent's on-going role in building out King's Cross, and managing the development of Paradise Circus in Birmingham and Airport City in Manchester, will be unaffected by the new joint venture.
