It prefers to invest in software, energy technologies, and nanotechnology venture companies and seeks to invest $500,000 to $750,000 per company in seed rounds. The fund generally reserves another $2 million per company from Allegro Ventures I, L.P. to invest in follow-on rounds. Allegro Ventures was started in early 2002 and is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
