Hyundai Hysco to Invest KRW 98.8 Billion to Build Automotive Steel Sheet Plant in Seoul

Hyundai Hysco is planning to invest about KRW 98.8 billion to establish an automotive steel sheet plant in South Korea. The plant is to be located at Yesan, south of Seoul, and will be focused on producing high-strength automotive steel sheets by using hot-stamping, a technique that applies special pressing and cooling simultaneously, thereby making them stronger than other conventional products. The technique helps reduce the amount of materials needed to make high-strength steel sheets for vehicles, which eventually helps cut costs and lightens the overall weight of a car.
