Proton Launches Next-Generation Perdana

Proton has launched the fourth-generation Perdana sedan in Malaysia. The vehicle is powered by a choice of 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre engines. Both are mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-litre engine generates a maximum power of 115 kW, and maximum torque of 189 Nm, while the 2.4-litre churns out 133 kW of power and 222 Nm of torque. The vehicle is priced at MYR 113,888 (USD 27,766.2) for 2.0-litre engine and MYR 138,888 for the 2.4-litre engine variant.

Proton opens 3s Centre in Chilean Capital

Proton Holdings Bhd has opened its first 3S (sales, service, and spare parts) centre in Santiago, Chile. The centre is located in Irarrazaval, Santiago. It will be managed by Andes Motor, the exclusive distributor of Proton's vehicles in the country. The move was in line with the automaker's plan to expand its overseas presence as part of its five-year growth plan set out by parent company DRB-Hicom. The automaker has a negligible market presence outside its domestic market of Malaysia, which alone accounted for around 98% of its total sales in 2015.

Proton Holdings Bhd Announces Executive Changes

Proton Holdings Bhd has appointed Datuk Seri Syed Faisal Albar Syed Ali Rethza Albar as its Non-Executive Chairman effective May 05, 2016, following the resignation of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad on March 31, 2016. Syed Faisal Albar, who is Group Managing Director of DRB-HICOM Bhd, would also assume the role of Group Lotus plc Chairman.
