Music Choice Selects Drobo to Protect Audio and Video Files Streamed to Millions Nationwide
Apr 18 13
Drobo announced that Music Choice has leveraged Drobo's B1200i series to back up and protect more than 200 Terabytes of audio and video content so that it can better keep pace with the growing demand for its music while ensuring high availability and data protection. The B1200i proved a strategic plus for Music Choice's business because the company was able to install the high-density units easily and manage them from a single interface at a low cost per terabyte in addition to accelerating the access to the music and video data. Built on proven BeyondRAID technology, and now coupled with new and innovative SSD-accelerated storage and Automated Data-Aware Tiering, the Drobo B1200i delivers a level of automation and technical sophistication usually reserved for more expensive enterprise solutions. In an independent test by ESG Labs, the B1200i proved strong streaming performance of nearly 300 MB/sec for data protection, video on demand, and other capacity-oriented applications.
