Nippon Express Reportedly Seeks Stake In TVS Logistics Services

Nippon Express Co. Ltd. (TSE:9062) is seeking to acquire a stake in TVS Logistics Services Limited from The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE:GS) and KKR & Co. L.P. (NYSE:KKR), according to two people with knowledge of the development. The deal size is expected to be Rs.1,670 crore, valuing TVS Logistics at Rs.3,800 crore, one of the two persons said. The transaction will give KKR and Goldman an opportunity to exit in the backdrop of TVS Logistics delaying plans for an initial public offering (IPO) until next year, the second person said. Besides Nippon, a couple of other global PE funds are also interested in TVS Logistics, said the first person. Spokespersons for KKR, Nippon Express and TVS Logistics declined comment. Goldman Sachs did not respond.

KKR And Goldman Reportedly Seeking To Sell Stake In TVS Logistics

KKR & Co. L.P. (NYSE:KKR) and Goldman Sachs Group, Merchant Banking Division are seeking to sell their 44% stake in TVS Logistics Services Limited. KKR and Goldman have mandated JM Financial to sell their stake for an estimated $250 million, people directly familiar with the matter said. The Carlyle Group LP (NasdaqGS:CG), Bain Capital, LP and GIC Pte. Ltd. are among the suitors bidding for the shares of TVS Logistics.

TVS Logistics Seeks IPO

TVS Logistics Services Limited may go public in 2016. According to Mint, people familiar with the plan confirmed that TVS Logistics Services Limited has contacted few Indian and overseas investment bankers regarding floatation of TVS Logistics shares between INR 8 billion to INR 10 billion. Previously, TVS Logistics had been looking for an IPO since 2011.
