The board of director's of Gulf Air have announced the instatement of Maher Salman Jabber Al Musallam to the position of chief executive officer. Al Musallam joined Gulf Air as deputy chief executive officer and has been at the helm of the airline, as acting chief executive officer, since December 2012. A seasoned aviation professional, Al Musallam has, with Gulf Air's executive management team, spearheaded the national carrier's 2013 restructuring strategy to deliver groundbreaking results - most significantly the reduction in the airline's annual losses. Gulf Air's board of directors additionally instated Sahar Ataei as chief financial officer; Ahmed Janahi as chief commercial officer and Jamal Hashim as chief technical officer in recognition of their efforts and contributions towards the national carrier's turnaround over the past three years.

Gulf Air has announced the appointment of Mr. Abdul Hussain Abdul Rahman Hussain, a seasoned aviation professional with over 20 years' experience, as its Country Manager in Greece. Over the course of his career to date Abdul Hussain has amassed an in-depth, working knowledge of the aviation and travel industry. He has previously represented Gulf Air in all of: the Republic of India and the People's Republic of Bangladesh and has held management roles both within Gulf Air and in other industry organizations including Hong Kong flag carrier, Cathay Pacific.
