Greater Houston Partnership Appoints Bob Pertierra as Senior Vice President and Chief Economic Development Officer

Greater Houston Partnership has hired Bob Pertierra as senior vice president and chief economic development officer. Pertierra, who will begin serving in his new role later this month, will lead GHP's economic development efforts and will oversee GHP's international trade and investment programs. He will assist GHP President Bob Harvey in completing the Opportunity Houston 2.0 $40 million fundraising campaign, which is dedicated to funding GHP's economic development efforts over the next six years. The 2.0 initiative, which was announced a year ago and begins this year, aims to create 450,000 jobs in the region. Pertierra most recently served as a vice president at Metro Atlanta Chamber, which he joined in 2003. He also served eight years as an officer in the U.S. Army and as director of corporate relations for a national nonprofit founded by U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell. Craig Richard left the chief economic development officer role at GHP to become Greater Louisville Inc.'s new president and CEO a year ago.
