Maynard Cooper Opens New San Francisco Office; Appoints Drew Kitchen as Managing Partner, San Francisco Office
Aug 11 14
Maynard Cooper & Gale PC has chosen one of the nation's larger metros for its first out-of-state office. The law firm, which also has offices in Huntsville, Mobile and Montgomery, is opening a new office in San Francisco. The new office will initially focus on three practice areas: insurance and financial services litigation, complex Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) litigation and sports and entertainment law. Drew Kitchen, a Birmingham partner, has been named the managing partner of the San Francisco office. Kitchen, who has been with the firm for his 12-year career, will relocate later this summer. The firm has hired Christopher Rillo, a nationally recognized litigator, as a partner in its San Francisco office. Rillo has practiced benefits litigation for his entire career and has appeared in numerous benefits actions. Mark Drew, managing shareholder of Maynard Cooper, said existing clients and related opportunities were the reasons the firm decided to expand its presence on the West Coast.
