The company also announced that Alison Levitt is joining Mishcon as a partner in the firm's litigation group. Her role at the DPP, where she oversaw numerous high-profile cases and had responsibility for around 1,000 Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) advocates, made the 25 Bedford Row silk one of the highest-ranking government lawyers and prosecutors in the country. She took a central role in the phone hacking prosecutions, advising the former DPP Keir Starmer QC on who and how many should be taken to court. She was also seen as a key contender in the race to succeed Starmer in the top legal role.
