Rimini Street, Inc. announced the opening of its next phase (Phase II) expansion of the company’s worldwide headquarters in Las Vegas, and the posting of 60 new jobs to staff this expansion located in the Hughes Center. The new staff positions include roles in finance, IT, legal, marketing, facilities, administration and software engineering, and will support Rimini Street’s rapid global growth. The company will commemorate the expansion with a gala ribbon-cutting ceremony and cocktail party tonight.
Court Increases Damages Oracle Can Claim against Rimini Street for Copyright Violation

Oracle Corp. (ORCL) announced that federal court recently ruled that the company may expand the damages it seeks from Defendants Rimini Street and it's founder and CEO Seth Ravin in a lawsuit against them for copyright infringement and related claims set for trial on September 14 in Las Vegas. The court ruled that Oracle may seek damages, attributable to the nearly two and a half years of continued litigation between the parties during which Rimini allegedly continued to engage in copyright infringement. The court ruling will significantly increase its claimed damages beyond the more than $209 million it already sought.

The updates include the 2015-C update for PeopleSoft clients, which were delivered ahead of the vendor’s own scheduled delivery date for similar updates, as well as updates for Oracle E-Business Suite and SAP releases. The updates provide clients with significant new tax, legal and regulatory changes required for the United States, Canada, Argentina, Australia, France, Israel, Mexico and the United Kingdom. Rimini Street offers clients accurate deliverables with the industry’s fast “legislature-to-live”SM update delivery cycle through an innovative combination of a patent-pending tax, legal and regulatory update process, as well as proven methodologies and ISO 9001-certified development processes. Updates for the United States and Canada: In the United States and Canada, Rimini Street updates included tax, legal and regulatory changes required by various state, local and provincial agencies. For clients in the United States, Rimini Street delivered numerous tax updates at the state and local government levels. At the state government level, updates included changes to the Employer Medical Assistance Contribution in Massachusetts; a minimum wage increase in Minnesota; and an additional state tax withholding for non-resident aliens in North Carolina.
