Nakheel Awards AED 1.8 Billion Contract to Empower

Empower announced that it has been successful to secure a contract worth AED 1.8 billion ($490 million) from Nakheel to deliver district cooling services to the company's premium projects in new Dubai - Jumeirah Village Circle and Jumeirah Village Triangle. The company, adhering to the terms of the contract, will be responsible for manufacturing six cooling facilities involving the two developments in order to deliver 260,000 refrigeration tons (RT) for the 400 buildings.

Empower Wins $490 Million Nakheel Project Contract

Nakheel has awarded a BHD 1.8 billion ($490 million) contract to Empower to provide its key services to two major developments - Jumeirah Village Circle and Jumeirah Village Triangle. As per the contract, Empower will build up six cooling plants in the two locations, to provide 260,000 refrigeration tons (RT) for the 400 buildings. The project is divided into several phases and Empower will produce 30,000 RT by the fourth quarter of this year, remarked Ahmad Bin Shafar, the chief executive of Empower, after signing the agreement with Sanjay Manchanda, the chief executive of Nakheel in the presence of Ali Rashid Lootah, chairman of Nakheel, and other senior officials.

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation Signs Contract with Bluewaters

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation said it will develop Bluewaters' district cooling infrastructure by providing them with 25,000 refrigeration tons (RT) of district cooling services. The contract is valued at AED 125 million. The service will commence from the third quarter of 2016. The agreement covers residential, retail and commercial buildings and hotels in this ambitious project.
