HCL Infosystems has entered into a strategic alliance with Lenovo India that would strengthen Lenovo's consumer retail and commercial business by leveraging HCL Infosystems' strong sales, distribution and after-sales support network. The partnership is poised to trigger growth and extend businesses for both companies. Under this partnership, HCL Infosystems will sell and support Lenovo's entire portfolio of PCs and Tablets, as well as enhance their existing cooperation in the distribution of tablets, through its wholly owned subsidiary-Digilife Distribution and Marketing Services (DDMS).
Lenovo India Names Bhaskar Choudhuri as Head of Marketing

Lenovo India announced the appointment of Bhaskar Choudhuri, as head of Marketing. Based out of Lenovo's headquarters in Bangalore, Bhaskar will spearhead the role across the three key segments including Consumer, Relationship (enterprise) and SMB. Bhaskar's primary mandate will be to 'protect' or retain Lenovo's equity in the Relationship segment and 'attack' or increase Lenovo's brand preference in the consumer and SOHO segments. He will also devise strategies for Lenovo's digital leap to build increase affinity with Gen X consumers. He joins Lenovo with 13+ years of diverse experience in sales and marketing, primarily in the FMCG space. Bhaskar fulfilled the role of Associate Vice President, Marketing at Cadbury India, for the Candy and Gum category.
Lenovo India Launches Six New Smartphones into the Growing Indian Market

Lenovo India launched six new smartphones in a bid to get a foothold into the growing Indian market. The company will sell its products through online retailers, including Amazon. As of now, the company will sell smartphones through two distributors - Ingram and Advanced Computers - reaching up to 3,000 multi-brand outlets. The new smartphones will also be available at 220 exclusive Lenovo stores. Mathur said Lenovo India will do 360-degree campaign across - television, outdoor, Internet and retail points - to promote its products. The new models include A series - A390 and A706, S Series - S820 and S920. All the devices run on Google's Android platform and soon it will launch smartphones that are based on Microsoft's Windows 8. The company also plans to launch new tablets and phablets in the coming months.
