Horizon Utilities' planned project to renew the electricity distribution system in the thriving James Street North area is nearly complete. Horizon has invested approximately $2.5 million this year to install new poles, transformers and overhead wires in a large area north of the downtown core. The current phase of the project, which covers the area from James Street North to Bay Street North and from Cannon Street West to Barton Street West, is part of a larger, multi-year plan to renew the electricity distribution system across downtown Hamilton.
