South Koreans Interested In Privatization Of Aluminij

South Korea is interest in privatization of Aluminij d.d. Mostar, while China in multi-billion KM investments in power plants, but the climate for foreign investment is upset by political tensions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Head of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) Gordan Milinic told news channel Nasa TV. He noted that the agency has been contacted by Korean companies because they were interested in the privatization of Aluminij. “We got all data both from the Directorate for Privatization of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Aluminij, and the foreign partners are now considering the matter," said Milinic.

Aluminij Sets Up AL Trade, its Electricity Trading Unit

Aluminij said its shareholders approved the founding of a subsidiary, AL Trade, whose primary job will be to trade in electricity. Electricity is a key element and the most expensive item in the production of aluminium; thus by establishing AL Trade Aluminij moves towards achieving energy independence. The smelter recently signed an electricity supply deal with Elektroprivreda BiH (EPBiH) for 2017.  Aluminij also said it hopes to become a desirable trading partner in the energy industry by setting up an electricity trading arm.

Government To Recapitalize Aluminij Stake

Government of Bosnia's Federation plans to recapitalize 44% stake in Aluminij d.d. Mostar. Talks have been launched with a Polish partner. Since there are no interested in buying, we sought recapitalization and we found a Polish partner. The talks aim to recapitalize €30-40 million, provide electricity and in a certain way stabilize the company's operations in the next three to four years," Prime Minister, Fadil Novalic, said.
