MAPLETREE Investments posted double-digit growth in earnings for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2015. The Temasek unit achieved a 14.3% growth in profit after tax and minority interests (Patmi) from a year ago to SGD 1 billion for fiscal year 2015, underpinned by strong operational performance. Its revenue rose 7.4% to SGD 1.6 billion on the back of new income streams from acquisitions during the year, higher contributions from its Singapore project Mapletree Business City, and positive contributions from Mapletree's four listed Reits. Mapletree's net asset value has grown at a compounded annual rate of 12.3% over the past five fiscal years. The company reported a 10.8% return on equity (ROE) for 2015 and an average ROE of 11.5% over the last five years.
Temasek Unit Seeks Acquisitions

Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd.'s Temasek unit is also in the process of securing more assets through acquisitions; its pipeline comprises its fifth corporate lodging or serviced apartment asset in the US, its first office building in London and three more office assets in Australia. "Our plan is to remain focused on delivering consistent and high returns and profits as we continue scaling our business," said Mapletree group Chief Executive Hiew Yoon Khong. "Going forward, we will continue to seek quality assets overseas, in markets within Asia and beyond such as the US, Europe and Australia to diversify risks and sustain our growth and profitability," he added.
Growthpoint Properties, Mapletree Reportedly Eye Lend Lease's K1 Office Tower

Growthpoint Properties Limited and Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd. are race to acquire $120 million K1 office tower from Lend Lease Group (ASX:LLC). Other groups known to have looked at the asset include Charter Hall Group (ASX:CHC) and a high-net-worth private company. Bids have been placed for the asset and indicative pricing reflects a yield of about 7% per cent. CBRE and JLL began a marketing campaign for the asset earlier in 2015.
