CBRE Pty Ltd Announces New Leadership Role for Capital Markets in Pacific

CBRE has appointed industry stalwart Mark Granter to a newly created role as Executive Managing Director, Head of Capital Markets, for the Pacific Region. Mark will work closely with Josh Cullen, as CBRE’s Regional Director of Capital Markets for Pacific, and with relevant Senior Managing Directors and Business Line Leaders across the region, to build on the firm’s existing and highly successful service offering in this market segment. Mr. Granter’s most recent position was as Executive Managing Director, Client Relationships & Projects – a role in which has driven key transactions such as last year’s record sale of the Ingham portfolio. He has also previously served as Senior Managing Director of CBRE Victoria and as both Deputy CEO and COO of CBRE’s Pacific business. In his new role, based out of CBRE’s Melbourne office, Mr. Granter will have oversight of CBRE’s Investment Properties (IP), IP Metropolitan, Private Clients, Hotels and the sales components of the firm’s Retail and Industrial agency business lines.

Senior CBRE property executive Sharon Yang has transferred from Shanghai to Sydney to further strengthen the firm’s International Investments team in Pacific. The appointment of Ms. Yang to an Associate Director role recognised the significant uplift in activity from Chinese buyers seeking to invest in the hotel, office and residential markets in both Australia and New Zealand. Ms. Yang worked for CBRE in Shanghai for the past three years and has a total of 10 years’ property market experience including prior roles with Knight Frank and Savills. Her appointment coincides with a significant uplift in Chinese investment in the Australian property market, as highlighted by recent transactions such as Dalian Wanda’s AUD 415 million purchase of Gold Fields House in Sydney.

In tandem, Chris Litfin will be assuming a new role as Director of the Gold Coast Residential Projects team, with a focus on expanding local sales and distribution channels. In his new role, he will be targeting emerging buyer channels and exposing its Gold Coast projects to an ever expanding market place. In tandem, Chris will focus on continuing to grow its local channels and further expanding its highly successful Gold Coast business. The new appointments coincide with a new growth phase in the Gold Coast market, which is forecast to benefit from strong population growth and new infrastructure associated with the Commonwealth Games and the completion of the light rail network.
