The Indian bottling operations could fetch a valuation of $1 billion. The company is in the process of initiating talks with large industrial houses for a potential deal. The sale could take up to 12-18 months.

Jain Irrigation Signs MoU with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd and Maharashtra Government to Establish Modern Hi-Tech Nursery and Develop Knowledge Sharing Processes

Jain Irrigation announced that it has signed a MoU with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. and Maharashtra Government for Project Orange Unnati. Under the agreement between the Govt. of Maharastra, Jain Irrigation and HCCBPL, the partners will set up a juice manufacturing facility in Vidarbha region. They will also support local farmers in the cultivation of Indian orange mandarins with the adoption of Ultra High Density Plantation (UHDP) technique to boost orange yield. UHDP is a scientific process that ensures higher yield of agri produce per acre of land and within a time span, which is significantly lesser than fruit grown using traditional methods of farming. The partners will also establish a modern hi-tech nursery and develop knowledge sharing processes for the benefit of the farmers including using classroom training and field demonstrations for UHDP.

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Suspends Bottling at Three Plants in India

Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages announced that it has suspended bottling at three plants in India, including one in the parched northwest where farmers have been protesting the company's groundwater use. The company is reorganizing operations across its 24 franchise bottling plants in India.
