Discovery Communications, Inc. Announces Executive Changes

Discovery Communications, Inc. has named Jean-Thierry Augustin as president, sports strategy & development at Discovery Networks International, and Peter Hutton as CEO of Eurosport. Augustin, who previously held the position of CEO at Eurosport, will report directly to JB Perrette, President of Discovery Networks International and continue to be based in Paris. Augustin will work closely with Discovery's international leadership team and Peter Hutton to create a compelling sports business development strategy that utilizes sports as a game-changing asset and drives new growth globally. Hutton joins Eurosport from MP & Silva Group, where he held the post of Co-CEO. As CEO of Eurosport, Hutton will oversee the negotiation of sports rights and lead Eurosport's content strategy to bring renewed focus to programming, production, promotion and platforms. Hutton will take advantage of Discovery's local infrastructure and global platforms to maximize Eurosport's value across more than 70 countries and in 20 languages. Hutton also will report to Perrette and will be based in Paris, with a start date of March 1, 2015. Jean-Thierry has been at the helm of Eurosport for a number of years during which he has proved to be a tremendous commercial leader and this new role will harness his expertise to build Discovery's global sports strategy and expertise. Similarly, Peter has excelled in the sports media business. With extensive experience in Europe, Asia and Middle East, and strong relationships with broadcasters and rights holders, he is the perfect executive to strengthen Eurosport's position as a global leader in sports.

Discovery Communications and Hulu Announce Robust New Distribution Agreement

Discovery Communications and Hulu announced an expansive new agreement for the distribution of titles from Discovery's unparalleled portfolio of programming available to U.S. Hulu subscribers. Popular programs, including MYTHBUSTERS, THE LITTLE COUPLE, SAY YES TO THE DRESS, TREEHOUSE MASTERS, HOW IT'S MADE and HOMICIDE HUNTER will debut on Hulu beginning in January 2015. Hulu also will gain exclusive subscription videoon demand rights to Discovery Channel's hit series DEADLIEST CATCH. The firstever longform content partnership between Discovery and Hulu features programming from multiple networks including Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, Science, Destination America and original Spanishlanguage content from Discovery en Español - bringing the best of Discovery Communications to Hulu subscribers. Programming from across the Discovery Communications portfolio will become available to stream on Hulu with a Plus subscription beginning January 1, 2015.

Discovery Communications Enters into Distribution Agreement with Sony Network Entertainment International LLC

Discovery Communications and Sony Network Entertainment International LLC announced a new agreement for the distribution of Discovery's portfolio of programming to United States audiences on PlayStationVue, SNEI's new cloud-based TV service. PlayStationVue will begin an invite only beta during November with commercial launch to come during the first quarter of 2015. The deal encompasses 18 Discovery Communications networks and services, including all 13 United States networks as well as next-generation digital entertainment from Discovery Digital Networks and Animal Planet L!VE.
