Citibank India has appointed Arvind Vashistha from UBS Investment Bank, as head of equity capital markets. He will work out of the bank's Mumbai office. In this role, Vashishtha will be responsible for the equity origination & execution business for Citibank India and will report to Ravi Kapoor, head of corporate and investment banking for Citibank India, and Kenneth Poon, head of Asia Pacific capital market origination, based in Hong Kong. He joins Citibank after corporate lawyer-turned-banker Bhavna Thakur resigned earlier 2014.

Citibank India reported earnings results for the year ended March 2014. For the period, the company reported a 6.4% increase in net profit at INR 28,930 million against INR 27,180 million a year ago. Net interest income recorded 5.4% increase to INR 54,570 million against INR 51,780 million a year ago.
