Qatar Financial Centre Establishes Independent Employment Standards Office

The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) has announced the establishment of an independent Employment Standards Office (ESO). The ESO, which previously operated under the Legal department, is the new statutory compliance office for businesses registered under the QFC. The office has been established with the aim to protect both employers and employees through robust regulations, codes and procedures. Its objectives include enforcing compliance with regulations, ensuring fair treatment of employers and employees, encouraging communication between its members, facilitating dispute resolution and developing a productive QFC work force.
Qatar Financial Centre Appoints Hamed Al-Saadi as Chief Financial & Tax Officer

The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) announced the appointment of Mr. Hamed Al-Saadi in the position of Chief Financial & Tax Officer. In this capacity he will also sit on the Executive Committee (ExCo) of the QFC Authority. In his role, Mr. Al-Saadi will report directly to the CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the QFC, from financial planning through to execution of the QFC 's financial activities, while adhering to the QFC 's values of transparency, efficiency and integrity. Mr. Al-Saadi has 15 years of experience in accounting and financial management. Before being appointed Chief Financial & Tax Officer of the QFC, Mr. Al-Saadi held a number of high profile appointments at RasGas, including General Accounting Manager. He has specific expertise in audit, project management and executive leadership.
Qatar Financial Centre Authority Announces Executives Appointment

The Qatar Financial Centre Authority announced the appointment of Yousuf Al-Jaida as CEO, effective from July 1, 2015 as the organization continues to progress its mission of developing Qatar's private sector. Al-Jaida joined the QFC Authority in 2010 and previously served as its deputy CEO and chief strategic and business development officer. He assumes his new role at a time when the QFC has seen a 25% increase in the number of non-financial sector firms licensed with 30% of firms now Qatari entities. The QFC Authority announced that Sheikh Salman Al Thani has been appointed as chief strategic and business development officer, effective immediately.
