IFC Signs $520 Million Financing Agreement with Pan American Energy

IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, signed a $520 million financing agreement with Pan American Energy to help the company develop its oil and gas resources to help meet Argentina's growing energy needs. The financing package consists $120 million for IFC's own account and $400 million raised by IFC from commercial banks and financial institutions including: ICBC, Banco Itau BBA, Natixis, Credit Agricole, Banco Santander, Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, and Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior. IFC's loans extend to seven years, a long loan maturity in Argentina's financial markets. The IFC financing will be used for the company's $1.5 billion expansion program in the Cerro Dragon block in Golfo San Jorge and the Lindero Atravesado block in Neuquen.

YPF Reoprtedly In Talks to Acquire Petrobras

A consortium led by YPF S.A. (BASE:YPFD) is reportedly considering a bid to acquire the brazil assets of Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. - Petrobras (BOVESPA:PETR4). Petrobras is discussing a takeover proposal with Pan American Energy LLC, Pluspetrol Energy S.A. and Tecpetrol SA, according to newspaper BAE Negocios. A decision on whether to proceed with the operation is expected to be made next week, the report said. In addition, the company said it would sell assets worth $15.1 billion in 2015 and 2016.
