Tata Group Reportedly In Talks To Sell Stake In Tata Sky To Twenty-First Century Fox

Tata Sons Limited (Tata Group) has begun discussions to sell an additional stake in Tata Sky Ltd. to Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc. (NasdaqGS:FOXA) said two people aware of the development. The two sides will approach the government for approval if the ongoing discussions are successful, the people said. An email sent to Fox remained unanswered as of press time. A Tata Sons spokesperson said: “We do not comment on speculation.”

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited Enters into Agreement Through MOU with Tata Sky

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has entered into an agreement through MOU with Tata Sky. Under this MOU, BSNL and Tata Sky will enter a strategic alliance and seek broadband customers for BSNL who will be utilizing Video On-demand services offered by Tata Sky. Through this understanding, BSNL is expected to get additional Broadband customers and Tata Sky will provide its subscribers the option of video on-demand. As an initial incentive to customers, BSNL is offering free first month broadband rental. Similarly M/S Tata Sky will also be offering Video On-demand Services free for the first month to download content worth up to INR 500. BSNL and Tata Sky will implement this MOU starting with one or two States and would like to cover the entire nation within next six months.

Tata Sky Launches Channel NewsAsia International on its Platform

Tata Sky has launched Channel NewsAsia International on its platform. The company said the pan-Asian channel was now available to its subscribers on channel number 535. The channel was now available in over 58 million households across 27 territories in Asia.
