Ting Hsin Receives Appraches For Stake In Taiwan Star

Ting Hsin International Group has received expression of interests for its 52% stake in Taiwan Star Telecom Corporation Limited, Taipei Time reported. Ting Hsin spokesman Ted Chia said: “Indeed, there is more than one company that has expressed an interest [in buying the group’s share of Taiwan Star], but the group has not made any decision yet.” Taiwan Star’s other major shareholders – which include Cathay Financial Holding Co., Ltd. (TSEC:2882), CTBC Financial Holding Co., Ltd. (TSEC:2891) and Cheng Uei Precision Industry Co., Ltd. (TSEC:2392) intend to increase their stake in the company.

Ting Hsin International Group said that the group plans to sell its 52% stake in Taiwan Star Telecom Corporation Limited, and is expected to cut a deal by the end of this quarter or early next quarter. Ting Hsin has been approached by potential buyers. “Indeed, there is more than one company that has expressed an interest in buying the group’s share of Taiwan Star, but the group has not made any decision yet,” said Ting Hsin spokesman Ted Chia.
Far EasTone Reportedly Interested In Acquiring Taiwan Star Operation From Ting Hsin

Far EasTone Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (TSEC:4904) is interested in acquiring the Taiwan Star operation from Ting Hsin, reported The Next. However, a spokesperson for FarEastone said that there has been no contact between the two groups on such a proposition.
