Rostelecom Reportedly Resumes Talks To Buy Akado

Talks between Public Joint Stock Company Long-Distance and International Telecommunications Rostelecom (MISX:RTKM) and Akado Oy have been resumed. The former is looking to buy the latter, Vedomosti reported. The first negotiation, which took place in 2013, yielded no result. In May 2014, Viktor Vekselberg said that his Renova Group decided not to sell Akado. Two people close to both sides of negotiations told Vedomosti that the two companies are mulling the idea again. According to one of them, a possibility of paying for Akado's assets with Rotelecom's quasi-treasury shares is being discussed. The second source confirmed that this scenario was considered.

Petropavlovsk May Merge With Zoloto Kamchatki

Petropavlovsk Plc, which operates in Russia, is open for a potential merger with gold producer, Zoloto Kamchatki, a unit of businessman Viktor Vekselberg's Renova Group, Petropavlovsk CEO Pavel Maslovsky told Bloomberg. Petropavlovsk sees a "big potential" for the merger, but no talks are being held and no merger proposals have been made so far, he said.
